How to Install Top Fix Curtains

Installations can vary slightly so be sure to follow the instructions carefully on the sheet provided. 

Your curtains will arrive ready to go so it’s a good idea to first check you have all the parts by identifying them on the instruction sheet provided.

You will require a drill, a phillips head screwdriver and 2 mounting screws per bracket.

Step 1

  • Firstly, position two top fixing clips approximately 150mm from each end of the track ensuring they are in line with each other by measuring the same distance from the window, then screw the clips into the ceiling.

Approximately 80mm to 100mm from the window is standard but this should be assessed based on what is most appropriate for each window and room. 

  • Position and fasten any remaining brackets between the end brackets evenly and into studs if possible.

In most scenarios, the screws provided will be suitable to mount the brackets. However, if you need to fix the blind to a window lintel or into masonry, you may need to source more appropriate screws and plugs.

Step 2 (if track is split)

If your custom track has been delivered in two parts then you’ll need to join them. Follow our simple instructions here!

  • First, slide the joiner piece half way though one length of track.
  • Then slide the second length of track over the exposed half of the joiner.
  • Use the supplied hexy key to tighten the grub screws, fixing the track firmly together

Step 3

  • Clip the track into the brackets by slotting the back of the track between the metal and the plastic clip and fasten into place with the screw.

Step 4

  • Connect the hand wand to the opening side of the track. This is usually hooked onto a dedicated loop inside the first runner. Otherwise, hook it onto the first runner on the opening side.

 Step 5

  • To hang the curtain, simply use the hooks on the back of the curtain to loop through the runners.
  • In the case of S-Fold curtains, the hooks on the back of the curtain, should be clipped in, then around, then underneath each runner to achieve the wave effect.
